Do you feel as if you must choose between exercise or therapy because of a

hectic schedule? Have a desire to combine the benefits of exercise and

therapy? Then Talk & Walk Therapy might be for you!

Talk & Walk is not a fitness session but it is often more dynamic than a

traditional indoor therapy session. You lead the pace! While walking side by

side you’re looking ahead -  being physically active releases some tension and

stimulates new thoughts and ideas. It is a metaphor for moving forward!

Talking and Walking is one therapy approach Talk & Walk employs. It’s not suited for everyone, and is not appropriate for every type of therapy issue. The Talk & Walk therapist will discuss taking therapy off the couch with each client during your initial session held at the Fox Chapel Office in Aspinwall, PA. It will allow us to determine if Talk & Walk Therapy is for you and if so decide where we’ll meet for our outdoor sessions .  Some people like walking along the paved areas by the water, others prefer strolling in one of the many parks that are close to their home or workplace. Issues of confidentiality will be discussed and how you prefer we negotiate encountering other people when out walking.  Additionally, we will agree on a plan if weather is poor. I personally don’t mind a little bit of rain or summer heat, but you might not.

Thereafter, our counseling sessions will take place at our agreed upon location where we will talk and walk for 50 minutes. If at any time you feel the need to sit down, we will find the nearest bench and take a rest.

Both Talk & Walk Therapy and traditional office sessions (as well as virtual sessions) are conveniently offered during flexible hours to accommodate work schedules and other time demands. Early morning, evenings and weekend appointments are available.
